Legendary Jackie Chan (59) who himself has his own successful singing career in Asia with 20 albums recorded has transformed himself from film superstar to also K-pop artist manager.

K-pop boy band JJCC released its first debut album on March 24 in South Korea, before promoting it in China. The band name JJCC (promonunced “Double JC”) comprise of four Korean members who are former models and one Chinese-Australian. The band name is a tribute to Chan as well as his effort to join cultures in Asia.

Jackie Chan decided to manage the group personally after his involvement with auditioning the band members.

Korean Pop has been dominating the music charts all over Asia with growing trend in Europe.  With K-Pop experiencing double digit growth rates since the mid 2000s, in the first half of 2012 it grossed nearly 3.4 billion dollar and is now recognized as South Korea’s greatest export.

From 2011, K-Pop had also crossed over into U.S. market from hits from K-Pop artist Psy and Girls Generation.

Casting popular K-Pop artist and Asian American entertainers in Korean drama is now a growing trend.
Good example of success is current most popular Korean drama “Bride of the Century” starring Lee Hong-Ki from FT Island boy band and Korean-American actress Sora Jung (Kim Sora) from California.   Singer/Actor Lee Hong-Ki himself draws millions of his global fans to the show as where Korean-American actress Sora Jung who is now been called Queen of K-Drama depicts to Hollywood and to world audiences that Korea and their network  is now establishing themselves for more global market distribution.  Many of the popular K-Drama can now be seen online, Viki.com or Dramafever.com.
